The Many benefits of voip

VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, has begun to change the way we communicate.  VoIP is a protocol that makes it possible to communicate over the internet by transmitting voice in the form of data between two computing endpoints.  As we spend more and more time using the internet for both work and our personal lives it’s only logical that people will warm up to the idea of having a voice connection there at their disposal.  But VoIP has many more benefits than simply convenience.
               

 There are three groups that find benefits in VoIP technology.  They are; individual home users, businesses, and investors.  The major appeal for individuals and businesses is the fact that VoIP is virtually free if you already have a broadband internet connection.  It allows you to skirt paying for long distance phone calls made by traditional calling.  With the sound quality getting better all the time VoIP is becoming more people’s choice for communication.  Using VoIP you can also add additional telephone lines basically at no cost since VoIP is capable of transmitting more than one call over the same connection.  Adding to the benefits of cost savings is the fact that VoIP also has added features like caller ID and voice mail capabilities which traditional phone carriers charge additionally for. 

For businesses these savings are substantial.  It can be contested that VoIP is perfect for business communications as it allows for conference calling, simplification of the corporate network which increases productivity, integration into other applications such as file sharing, and employees can even make mobile calls from anywhere and still connect into the company phone system using VoIP phones.

For investors the benefit is clear.  VoIP is opening up multiple channels for revenue.  This is due to VoIP’s ability to use a single technology to create numerous communication applications, which means more ways to make money.  VoIP is also a technology that is still growing and increasing in quality as it steadily attracts users.
